Blessing of the Animals at Open Streets

In an exciting partnership with The City of St. Petersburg, Keep Saint Pete Local and local community health and safety organizations, The Cathedral Church of St. Peter is helping to sponsor the first Open Streets event in St. Petersburg.  How does it work? The City Police will set up barricades around the route and close down the streets to all vehicular activities.  The route is open to the public, at no cost, and people are allowed to bike, stroll, and roll about the open space in a safe and protected environment.  Various activities will be set up on the streets for people to interact with or participate in. Williams Park will be the home of Keep St. Pete Local’s Indie FamFest and the Cathedral’s Pet Corner!

It is at the Pet Corner that the Blessing of the Animals will take place, bringing God’s blessing to not just Cathedral pets, but all of the pets of St. Pete!

The Cathedral will also be hosting on the sidewalks surrounding our property a variety of kid activities sponsored by the Cathedral Youth Group, Cathedral tours, organ demonstrations, and a Welcome Table hosted by the Outreach Committee.

There are many opportunities to participate in this event, from showing up and having fun to keeping dog bowls filled to welcoming people into the Cathedral.  Follow this link to sign up!
